Embarrassing Moments in Montreal - Comic Complete

Finished and bound comic of my most "Embarrassing Moments in Montreal". I didn't think I would actually write about these moments but here they are. A majority of the events did take place during my first year at Concordia University. Usually being so introverted, I walked around a lot, which lead me on adventures where I would run into unusual places and people. I honestly accredit these embarrassing moments in helping me grow getting to know people and helping me become less introverted.

The full comic is for viewing under the cut.

Return from Everything

Recently I've had a lot of things good and bad happen. Some of them I could solve but many of them left me with unease. Since then my drive to create art projects had become hindered. However meeting with many of my friends and family, I've gotten my focus back and now I'm planning to change my art style.

During my time away; I've been researching gender, sexuality, and religion. Most of my art work was based on figurative pieces from my childhood. But now, I'm sure, I'm going in the right direction.  These studies gave me a chance to explore my research and my relationship with them.

Thanks and I'll be posting art work in a couple of weeks. Keep following!

Side Projects - T-shirts for our Karate Club

This year I was the president of the Concordia Karate club and I had the pleasure of coming up with an idea for the club to do this year. I was interested in creating a logo for the club and maybe a few things to leave behind when I'm gone from my time at Concordia. A bit bitter sweet if I think about it.

I worked on creating t-shirts for our club's kohai. I'm really happy how they turned out. I've been thinking to create a t-shirt company for myself but I'll need a lot of screens and ink. Maybe down the line.

Independent Project - Woodblock Printing

For my independent study I wanted to look at the way oral stories began. I'm currently doing 4 20 by 20 inch woodcuts.
I'm going to update this later with photos.
Shellac all the wood.

Lithography - Colour Trial Proofs

Well I kind of fell behind in Lithography since I thought the deadline was later than I thought. I have to force myself to work ahead of schedule. For this project we were to design a set of prints that would make us think of different combinations and other things. I wanted to go back to the idea of my first silkscreen and create a world where there is a city built out of an iceberg. I'm interesting in the sense of isolation and most of my works don't involve figures rather an environment. I'm not too sure if this is the way I like my artwork to go. Any ways here is the process.
I usually start out with lines.
And then I begin to shade in the important areas.

Matchbox Project 2014

During this semester I wanted to participate in some of the different things happening in school. I was introduced to this project by the Mouseprint Gallery crew, Nat and Hea. I thought what would I like to create on a small scale, that would look interesting and technical.

Making a matchbox with little teepees attached to the box. I've been really, homesick this semester and I just about gave up and left. But I've been pushing on to finish school.

Here's the process of my matchboxes. More after the cut.

New Project 2014 - Drawing Practise

I wanted to start this project for a long time. I've always had a weak sketching when I drew and I've been reading how to loosen up my drawings, with large scale drawings in charcoal. I've been keeping a journal and the first thing that pops into my mind I will draw it when I get up. So for January 7, 2014 I had a dream about a specific person. Here is the result.

I'll see if I can keep this going for three months.
